Foundry Operative

Northfield Foundry Ltd is a well-established iron foundry based in Brixham Devon. Northfield have been manufacturing iron castings up to 1000 kgs from its current site since 1948, its origins however can be traced back to before the war. Our flexible production methods enable us to produce a wide range of castings from pumps to compressors and clutch housings to filter casings but specialise in manufacturing rotary valves and diverters for the powder and bulk handling industries.

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic and committed Foundry Operatives to join our team as we embark on an exciting new phase of growth and development. Key responsibilities

• Operate foundry machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
• Assist with mould preparation, casting, metal pouring, fettling, grinding and finishing processes
• Carry out quality inspections to ensure products meet the required specifications
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and Health and Safety policies and procedures
• Maintain machinery and tools using preventative maintenance methods
• Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve production targets
• Participate in training and skills development programs
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business

• Candidates must be physically fit as the role will require the lifting and moving of products
• Previous  manufacturing, or production experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

For this role we offer:

• A competitive salary
• Basic hours are 39 hours per week
  Monday to Thursday – 07.00 to 16.00 (half an hour unpaid lunch break)
  Friday – 07.00 to 12.00
